Grailed came to Artium having already successfully launched a two way marketplace for luxury fashion. But they had two very important goals that they wanted to achieve from their partnership with us - first they wanted to reimagine and reinvent their entire customer experience with regards to how users were finding and discovering new things to buy.
The second goal was to help them successfully implement best practices rooted in Extreme Programming (XP) across three distinct high performing cross functional teams.
We achieved the first goal of transforming and improving their core user experience by teaming up with Grailed's internal team to build and launch a new social media inspired customized "feed" of products that led to higher conversions, increased customer engagement and increased revenue across hundreds of thousands of users. During the same time we also placed two or three Artium practitioners into each of the software development squads to model and help implement new agile methodologies to increase productivity.
With our help, Grailed was able to reduce cycle time, implement a front-end testing suite, and introduce the proven practice of pair programming to de-risk and accelerate feature releases. The successful launch of the new social feed experience also proved to be crucial to a subsequent $60m Series B round.
Julian Connor, Co-founder & CTO at Grailed, explains the importance of the new feed, "This is a big step towards providing every member of the community with a personalized experience that's uniquely tailored to their tastes. Shout out to the dedicated dream team who made this happen."
